Biography

The Building Energy Research and Analysis Group (BERA) at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory focuses on building energy research and analysis, with staff having backgrounds in engineering, economics, policy, applied building science, codes and standards writing, and whole-building energy simulation. We work with government, non-profit and private organizations to enable the smart, energy efficient and healthy performance of buildings and their related systems.

BERA Mission:

To improve existing buildings, and those of tomorrow, by providing key analyses and tools that advance building systems and equipment that are technologically feasible, economically justifiable, and energy efficient; provide occupants a healthy and comfortable environment in which to work and live; and have a positive impact on our nation and environment.

BERA Vision:

A nation of efficient and responsive buildings with optimized value and performance for owners and occupants.
